Before you order

Not sure if you need Title 24?

Before hiring compliance help, it makes sense to ask what your project actually needs. Whether energy documentation is part of your permit depends on what the work changes; confirm the applicable requirements and submission instructions with your building department.

Start with the general guide, or pick the project type closest to yours. Each page explains what usually triggers documentation and what to confirm locally.

Project type
Why this estimate?

The published calculation uses residential or commercial scope, its square-footage band, additional residential dwelling units (+$75 each beyond the first), and the optional rush upgrade. Complexity is reviewed during intake, not converted into an invented automatic fee.

Our modeling/report errors in city plan check are corrected Free; architectural/design revisions are $75 flat. Full model remodels and larger rebuilds need a custom quote. Field testing, acceptance testing, registry fees, CALGreen and AHJ fees remain excluded.

What to send

Plans, schedules, equipment.

Floor plans, elevations, sections, a window schedule, assemblies and HVAC and water-heating intentions. A combined PDF is ideal; DWG and ZIP also work. Complete inputs make rush timing possible.

Climate zone is set by the exact parcel, not the county. Confirm it with the CEC climate zone tool.

Honest scope

What documentation is, and is not.

Provisional brand. Title 24 Lab is a provisional brand name pending legal business details.

Compliance documentation records how a design meets the Energy Code. It supports a permit application; the building department decides approval.

Where the single-family form family applies, CF2R installation certificates come from installers; CF3R verification certificates come from qualified ECC-Raters when measures require them. Other classifications use their applicable form families. Neither installation certification nor verification is automatic.
